WELCOME to the Dangerous Women Tribe, the membership initiative of SheLoves magazine.
We are women who have the audacity to believe that our faith, our lives and especially our Love can transform the world. We do this by walking together.
We are women of faith who want to follow Jesus everywhere He leads. We believe the God of the Universe holds the whole world in her hands. (Yes, we’re a little cheeky, a little dangerous and we are tired of playing safe with our faith. When there is injustice and oppression and suffering and inequality, we think it requires a special kind of Love, grit and community to dare to rise in its face.)
Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann once preached through Isaiah and said, God needs Dangerous People! So, we are calling the Dangerous Women of the Earth. We are calling the women who follow a God who is on the move, here, now, today, everywhere. We are calling women want to walk with other like-minded and like-hearted women. We are calling the women who seek justice, love mercy and want to walk humbly with our God, together.
For years, we have been faithfully cultivating women’s voices on SheLoves. But not all women are writers. Dangerous Women come in many difference shapes and languages, with many different giftings and challenges and dreams. Here is where we will walk together to call out the gifts in each other, to nurture the dreams in our hearts, to walk in solidarity and friendship.
We believe we belong to each other. There’s an African concept called “ubuntu” which says, I am because you are. It means, We belong to each other. It means, When you flourish, I flourish. When our sisters and brothers around the world suffer, we can’t be fully alive. We long for the Kingdom of God to come, on earth as it is in Heaven.
When one rises, we all rise.
Come, join us.
